It's been an interesting week. I've been feeling very introspective. Trapped up a lot in my own head, sitting with fears and joys like common companions. It's both good and bad, but I can't really help but be any other way right now. Sometimes you just need to step back into yourself to asses situations and develop a vision. But at the same time, for someone who's usually such an extrovert, it does feel a bit isolating. I am very thankful for the people that do make it easy to hop out of that introverted world every once in awhile. The people that you can completely forget yourself around and spill all those milling thoughts out on. Letting it out, saying what you're scared of, confessing your dreams, and sharing what excites you with another person, is really sometimes the best solution.

holding on to fall
11.08.2012

Just this week I put on my winter jacket for the first time, and we saw our first snow. I feel the winter moving in, but fall, I'm not ready to say goodbye. You only just arrived, and you can't be leaving so quickly. I'd rather hold those red leaves and crunchy apples in my mind a bit longer
.ringing rocks
11.01.2012
On Saturday, Adam and I visited the mysterious Ringing Rocks in Bucks County, PA. A strange and beautiful phenomenon found right in the middle of nature, the field of sonorous boulders create different pitches when struck with a hammer. You can tap around and make varying tunes, but scientists have yet to find out exactly why the rocks ring. According the VisitPhilly.com they have looked for reasons, such as high background radiation, abnormal magnetic fields, or strange electromagnetic activity, but haven't found any explanations. There are other fields around the world, in places such as Montana and Western Australia, where the abnormality has mysteriously occurred. Perhaps we'll just have to be content enjoying their music without a scientific explanation as to why.

Ladies and gentleman, it's fall! I'm addicted to the way that the light shines through the red of leaves, and I stand strong that there is no more beautiful time of year. All I yearn to do is walk around city streets from farmers market to flea. I've been getting my healthy dose of both - bringing home decor items and recipe ingredients in bounds. As a result, rearranging and concocting have filled up my indoor hours. It's a time of adventure, both at home and on the road. A little weekend trip up to NYC/Brooklyn put me in a great way, and I couldn't be sadder the for the weekend to end. Fall, never go away, ok?

Something about this period in time is strange. I feel more in transition than ever before. It's like I'm going through all of the prep work, but haven't gotten to any of the juicy cooking yet. I'm slicing carrots and chopping onions for a magnificent soup. So many thoughts and ideas whirl around in my head each day, but I'm not quite sure what to do with them. Is the recipe going to need more salt? I've yet to taste the broth and decide.
