personal day

I had a little bit of an accident the other day and ended up taking an impromptu personal day from work. It was one of the best decisions ever. Adam has Tuesdays off, so we slept in late and then had breakfast in bed. After that we drove out to Tyler State Park for a day of hiking and fishing which was followed by some small town exploration, dinner, and ice cream. What a magical day. Personal days are a great invention. :)

We pulled ourselves out of bed. It was the crack of dawn on a Saturday, a time when none of us would have otherwise been awake. Luckily Brigette's van has all of the rear seats removed. We climbed in the back like girls at a slumber party, sprawled out all in a row and surrounded with plush blankets. Our heads resting on pillows we rode as the sun came up. 

We pulled up to Golden Nugget flea market, our stomachs nourished with gas station sandwiches. The day was spent bargaining like a sleuth and filling up on treasures. The thrifting satisfied our need for adventure and we couldn't have been more content.
