My heart breaks thinking about this trip. It breaks over the fact that we had to leave - that we couldn't stay tucked away forever in that hilltop villa. What bliss. What beauty. We were all so happy there.

Now that summer is in its final hour, I thought it would be a great time for another in this instant update. From hikes, to friends, puppy dogs, and good eats, there are so many great highlights to remember. As bittersweet as the ending is, I have to say, I'm excited for fall. It's my favorite time of year.

heiberg forest

11.23.2012

Yesterday my dad and I went up to one of my favorite spots, Heiberg Forest. We hiked around with the dogs and took in the beautiful day. A love of nature is one thing we both have in common, and it's become something of a tradition for us to go on this walk. He always points out and names the trees, and then we check out the hut where they produce the maple syrup, and end up at the vista lookout point. Running around with the dogs and elated from the scenery, I felt like a kid again. Free as a bird.
